CHAT APPLICATIONS

Yahoo! Messenger: Really nice and ad-free.  We have been using it for over a year, and think this is definitely one of the best ones out there.  We recommend it for its amazing webcam option, which probably costs them loads of $$ in bandwidth, but then again, that's probably paid for with the advertising they do for Logitech.

AOL Instant Messenger:  This one has its pros and cons, but once you get rid of the ads, it's pretty good, albeit lacking the webcam option, and the fact that you can't send offline messages.  It does make up for it with alot of info on when your "buddies" are online, how long they have been online, and how long they have been idle.  Nice Away messages, and easy file transfers are also part of what makes this an appealing chat program.

ICQ: It has been available for quite a while, but somehow never really caught on with us.  Yes, we know there are millions out there using it, but we just find the whole "ICQ number", nickname, and user info thing a little messy.  Be sure and turn off the audio, because those typewriter sounds can really get irritating after a while.

MSN Messenger Service: If you are a novice computer user, chances are you have been "registered" with the MSN Messenger Service.  The real trick is actually getting out of it, as it seems nearly impossible to do so.  Here are some preventive measures you can take.  Otherwise, you may want to live with it, or ignore it, or maybe you like that sort of thing.

That about covers the ones worth covering.  Remember to act responsibly when using these programs, even when you do use them for the kinky stuff.
